![]() ![]() Fans generally interpret “too real” as “serious” while I think the interview’s context suggests that “too real” means “too random to be a coherent story.” Trying to keep the show’s reality from overpowering the pacing only became more and more of an issue each season so I think it’s pretty likely that that’s all “too real” was referring to. In an interview circa season 3, Danny described how the show’s anti-story day-to-day-life format would occasionally lead to episode ideas that were “too real,” and mentioned ‘Special Ed’ as an example of such a scrapped story. Honestly, you probably already know everything there is to know about it, but here’s a run-down of what information we have to mull over: Nobody knows what the plot was except that it was “too real"… do you know? I’ve heard about a scrapped episode called ‘Special Ed’. Nazz and Marie are the least developed characters but I still like everything we learn about them. Quotes pop naturally into my head all day, so other than those, I don’t have any other consistent choices.Įddy, Eddy’s Brother, Edd, and then every single other character. “Doth my English bug you, bumpkin” and “I HAVE CAUSED DISCOMFORT, BECAUSE I’M EDDY, HAHAHAHA” are my favorites for humor, “Excuse my sincerity in thinking I had lost the only two people I have left in this world” is favorite for drama, and I don’t have a least favorite. Many of these episodes are still fine and enjoyable, but they’re very different from the seasons before it. Season 4, because more than half of the season’s episodes feel undeveloped and/or mean-spirited. Season 3, because basically every episode in it is gold and each Ed is fully developed and realized. Turns out I still don’t care! I like whatever episode I’m watching, except for ‘Sorry Wrong Ed’. How about I make it more specific by asking favorite episodes for each season? Who cares? Anything you consider great is probably fine by me. Talking about it at anymore length than that actually stresses me out (go figure) and questions about it will be deleted henceforth. I would like to discuss ‘Sorry Wrong Ed’ with you!ĭon’t. It doesn’t aspire to be anything more than violence and there are few episodes as dismissive as that. ‘Sorry Wrong Ed’ because it lacks development: nothing in it ever comes back, the few characters who appear are acting unusual (meaning the phone is the only character that matters in it… and it’s a phone), there’s no ending, and roughly 80% of the episode is just cringing at Eddy torture or unsympathetic Edd. ![]() ![]() Back at Ed's place, Double-Dee is almost tempted into snuggling down in that bed - but not quite, so while Ed n Eddy are busy he slinks off to Sarah's instead. What’s your least favorite episode (and why)? The resulting mess blocks the creek but nobody notices. But without Edd of course their plan's a complete non-starter, so after trying to keep him alert by taping his eyes open and dragging him through the creek they simply dump his semi-comatose body over a boulder and improvise. Morning comes and Ed n Eddy arrive with fantastic plans to build ""Ed's Sea Ranch"" but they can't get any enthusiasm - let alone wake Double-Dee. Exhausted to the marrow, Edd finally finishes building his latest opus - a fort made from toothpicks - sometime w-a-y past bedtime and it puts his body clock into a severe state of rebellion.
